My Story

As a mindful potter I am making it my mission to evoke the notion of abundance and joy through the creation of beautiful hand-crafted, functional pieces in clay. I aim to serve those who seek meaningful reminders to pause, reflect and embrace the present moment.

In a world yearning for authenticity and consideration, my work strives to inspire individuals to live their best lives, sharing kindness and enriching the world around them through the beauty and intentionality of handmade ceramics.

In 2023, after an extensive stint in teaching, I packed my bag and headed for Japan to find the spaces that once inspired me, from inside the pages of glossy architectural photos. It was here that I discovered how deeply I was affected by the art of ritual, and I wanted to bring it home. From lost temples found on forest treks, mountain scrambling to reach high Shugendo shrines, to the simple act of rolling rice in nori, eating maki on a plate...

Come with me as I explore how objects are anchored to habits and how habits can be triggered by our senses... I will make for you, a range of work in stoneware, tethered to ritual with a spark to inspire you, make you smile, and look inward to find your own style of peace.

I trade under the name hiro,

taken from my friend's name that

translates as abundant.
